THE REZ-AG CONCERT SERIES

Friday, April 6th.,

2007 at 8:00 pm.

Katie Nelson's music captures the beauty and vibrancy of a life lived in desperate pursuit of God. The notes and melodies refresh the spirit. Her songs come from the depth of her life experiences, but always look forward to a better understanding of who Jesus Christ really is. Each song is approachable and genuine. The spirit of Christianity that exudes from "Do You Know Who He Is?" is anything but forced. It has incredible potential to both strengthen the body of believers and attract everyone else to the loving and powerful person of Jesus Christ.

C A L I

At nineteen-years-old, R&B flavored pop artist Cali is in a unique place to not only relate to her peers (along with those a little younger and slightly older) but she also has her fair share of life experiences and artistic leanings that are all well beyond her years. In the latter sense, she refuses to be a part of the pre-fabricated, manufactured, pretty as a picture pack, instead turning towards pure and powerful vocals, making songwriting with substance a priority and relying on natural beauty in place of highly tampered airbrushed imaging. Add in a desire to connect with tweens, teens and beyond with genuineness and relevance and this youngster makes for an extraordinarily compelling listen.

Fort Pastor

"Alive Inside," the debut album by Fort Pastor, will be filed under folk rock, acoustic rock or modern Americana, and that's fair enough, given what the band has in common with Toad the Wet Sprocket, Jars of Clay and, more recently, John Mayer or Jack Johnson.

But a lot of soul bleeds from all the vigorously strummed acoustic guitars of Fort Pastor, as well as from the vocals and lyrics of frontman Brant Christopher Menswar -- so much so that acoustic soul rock may be a more apt appellation. "A soul singer is someone who chooses to reveal rather than conceal," said U2's Bono. Fort Pastor makes that choice not just in their lyrics but in their music: a blend of charismatic acoustic guitars that are pounded as often as strummed, with the odd didgeridoo and mandolin thrown in to create an earthy, soulful whole.

Nicole Barron

Nicole's sound is a mix between Amanda Marshall, Amy Grant, a little Barbara Streisand, plus a ton of Nicole's own personality. Her vibrant personality is revealed in the variety of musical styles she performs so well. Her songs range from smooth jazz, blues, classic rock-style, pop, soft rock, ballad, and a touch of country.

The world is about to discover that the best things are worth waiting for. Despite her passionate lifelong aspiration to sing and perform, Nicole Barron has never been able to pursue her dream. Her success long overdue, she is now finally stepping out in faith.

Grey Sled
"Grace led"

Straight from State fair grounds
"Out of nowhere, a "let's go somewhere and I don't know where you're taking me. The strength I need is in the blood you bleed and the life you lead is the one I long for."

Derek and Bethany met at Christendom College in 2002. Bethany flew out on a whim and landed in VA as a freshman. Derek was a sophmore at that same school. Gregorian chant was huge at this school and only a few "rebels" enjoyed praise and worship music. A rainy day brought some strangers together in a music room after the warm welcome by Bethany. Derek and Bethany never had any lessons on any of the instruments that they played and everything clicked musically before names were given. That night after hours of music, Derek asked to walk Bethany back and God was smiling. We never saw it coming.
Many sacrifices and huge lessons were given and learned throughout the years. Maturity met with talent and beauty met with beast and a wonderful thing happened: Grey Sled was formed.

Jim Drew
http://www.jimdrew.net/

I believe that some of us are made as artists to go where the preachers  and lecturers cannot.  The speakers and motivators in our lives may bluntly deal with things while artists tend to poke their hearts into places where people need to feel and see, but don't always know how to find.

I really love to do what any artist would, should, must, which includes the danger of wearing my heart on my sleeve. I've just found that it breathes better there. My passion is to reveal things in a way that is emotional, thought provoking and available to all, hopefully giving a sense of purpose to the moment and then to the possibilities. We all need to hear and see things in different....perceptions, senses, ways and avenues.  This music goes to a different part of the soul.  What I work for in any venue is allowing us to do art together; creating a living, breathing chapter on our page together. This is a time and place of experiencing some of life's facets; as many as that time allows.

Sipping coffee at a corner java shop, going to a concert or hanging out on the streets, we share our experiences and faiths by telling stories. By using music and a creative atmosphere we can all relate to, we get to laugh and think about "stuff". Though the music may cry out with a loud and off-beat voice, there is a gentle brush, a Creator's caring whisper that comes through.

An Audience of One

http://www.anaudienceofone.com/

An Audience of One is a ministry with a calling to give God a voice and to call His people to worship Him. An Audience of One is all about God. We never want to be the focus when we play our music. When we play it is for the sole purpose of worshipping God and as He leads us, giving Him a voice among His people. Many of our songs relate to God, and Jesus as our deepest love, calling on Him to be with us. While we may be the ones in front of the people, It is a union of all of us worshipping our God. So, in the time we sing it is not a band/audience relationship we seek to build, but a Human/God relationship that carries on long after the last speaker is packed away.

Kristyn Leigh
http://www.kristynleigh.com/

(With opening by Sean Clive)
http://www.seanclive.com/

Kristyn began to pursue music after participating in countless other activities, ice-skating, horseback riding, soccer, baseball, basketball, and visual arts. She began piano lessons at the age of eleven, soon following with voice, cello and flute. Music was the one thing she found she loved above anything else. She continued to grow musically, becoming accomplished in voice and on each instrument, training in what would later be her calling.

When she was 15, she attended a teen church camp, and realized that God was calling her to begin her own music ministry. This led her to become much more serious about her talents, giving everything she had to God, and turning her life completely over to Him.

Kevin Thompson
http://kevinthompsonmusic.com/

Bio

Kevin seamlessly blends driving rock anthems, gentle alternative folk ballads, and hip hop tinged gospel-blues into a highly accessible whole; Think raw, spirituality ala Ben Harper, with heart on his sleeve, world-weary vocal delivery of Pete Yorn, or Jakob Dylan.

One of Kevin’s strongest attributes is his ability to sound both fresh and familiar at the same time. He accomplishes this by embracing his musical roots and influences but refusing to be limited by them. Instead, Thompson uses his influences and a spirit of experimentation as a starting point and fine-tunes the initial creative spark into well-developed songs.
